We are extremely happy to be able to invite all in the CV portfolio to a half-day with Maktsalongen – dedicated to educating ourselves in how to practice inclusionary leadership, create inclusionary business and communicate our business in a non-exclusionary way.

The event will entail seminars and workshops hosted by the phenomenal organization Maktsalongen. This is a way to get free access to knowledge and practices that are truly important when working within a team, and when engaging as a business with the outside world. Everyone from Chalmers Ventures with no prior engagements will attend, and we strongly encourage you all to join us.

So, why equality?

It is the year 2019, and there seems to be a growing consensus that equality is an important practice to live by. Both as professional organizations and as citizens.

The roar of the #metoo movement made perfectly clear that we all have an absolute obligation to help resolve the issues that have been brought to light. And things are changing; 2018 was the first year ever that an increase in female representation in management groups at listed companies could be reported. We also saw an increase of 65% when it comes to female CEO’s. However, the increase of representations in management groups have only gone from 21% to 23%, and the gender-ratio of CEO’s is still 90-10 male-female. We clearly have more things to do but truly believe that we all can be part of the change.

As entrepreneurs running startups in different phases, on different markets, and in different fields, you are all able to be part of changing equality for the better. As we see it – you are the builders of our future. We know that innovators and entrepreneurs are main driving forces that help shape what our future will look like. Just look at what is currently going on in some of our startups:

More people will have access to solar-powered electricity
People from different social backgrounds will be able to invest in the stock market
More people will have clean air to breath and clean water to drink
More people will be able to communicate more effectively cross languages

So let us all make sure that the coming years will see a change for the better. We can do this together.

As part of meeting this challenge of equality, we at Chalmers Ventures have made an Equality Strategy. During 2019 we will have a special focus on the areas of communication, recruitment, and competence regarding equality. As part of this, we are excited to announce that Maktsalongen will come to Chalmers Ventures. Make sure to register for the event!
