Tech Matching for Encubation is designed to support you as a researcher or innovator in bringing your discoveries to market. Through this process, you will be matched with an entrepreneurial team from the Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship, giving your innovation the momentum it needs to grow.

High-impact Teams

Tech Matching for Encubation is a unique program built on more than 25 years of collaboration with Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship.

In this program, your idea, technology, or research is paired with student teams from the Master’s program in Entrepreneurship at Chalmers. Together, you’ll work closely to explore its potential and assess whether it can be developed into a viable venture.

If the outlook is positive, your case may move forward with the opportunity to be accepted into our award-winning Venture Building Program.

You – the idea partner

Primarily, we are looking for three types of tech partners to join forces with the entrepreneurship students at Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship.

Researchers

Academic researchers who have made an intriguing discovery, achieved exciting research results or invented new technology.

Innovators

Individuals who have developed interesting technology outside the academia or corporate world, yet upholds all the necessary tech criterias expressed below.

Tech Companies

Companies that has developed new technology as spin-out/carve-out outside of the company's core business.

Criteria

When evaluating an idea and its potential – There are three types of technology-related requirements that we look for

Ownership

Invention, data set, method, design, IP or unique know-how.

Innovative Edge

The technology, or the area in which the technology is set to be applied, must be unique and possess innovative height.

Market Potential

The technology or idea must demonstrate potential for global scalability.

TECH MATCHING – the timeline

STEP 1

APPLY & EVALUATION

The first step is to apply and send in your tech idea to Chalmers Ventures.

We will evaluate you idea and see if it fits the criteria for the process.

MATCH TECH WITH TEAM

If you idéa is selected it will be matched with a team of entrepreneurs from Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship.

COLLABORATION AGREEMENT

A collaboration agreement needs to be signed. This ensures that the entrepreneurs are onboard with the process.

STEP 4

VALIDATION & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

The entrepreneurs work full time on market validation and business development for your tech idea.

STEP 5

START UP & INVESTMENT

If the market validation proofs to be successful, Chalmers Ventures will invest.

The startup becomes a portfolio company at Chalmers Ventures and CV will take active ownership in the startup.

VENTURE PROGRAM

The startup will enter Chalmers Ventures Venture Program.

The Venture Program and the Venture Platform will support the new startup with knowledge, networks and expertise in order for the new formed startup to get a good start.

Recruiting of the business developers (the students)
World-class entrepreneurial action-oriented education
Match you tech idea to projects with teams
Enable structure for collaboration & legal support
Mentoring and feedback in the explore phase
Hands on seminars/workshops with coaches and investment managers
Provide office space during project year
Chalmers Ventures’ team are hands on when needed
