Adsorbi

Air pollutant capture is essential for avoiding health problems and protecting sensitive objects. But today’s unsustainable material use has severe environmental impacts and manufacturers looking for new materials for air pollutant removal have few alternatives. We want to help industries in sustainable transition by providing an innovative super-material.

Adsorbi has developed an adsorbent material that is highly efficient in capturing air pollutants, 5-8 times more effective than the existing alternatives on the market. The material is cellulose-based and designed to have a low environmental impact throughout the entire value chain.

Air pollutant control is needed in many markets and the first Adsorbi products are launched for art conservation. Museums and archives need solutions that remove air pollutants in storage spaces, are made from stable materials, and are easy to use. Adsorbi has developed storage pads together with art conservators which will be launched in 2023.

Mat4Green Tech

Indium plays a key role in the production of flat screens, touch screens and solar cells. The demand for the metal is great but the supply is today very limited all over the world. Mat4Green Tech has developed a technology that recycles Indium from industrial waste in an efficient and climate-neutral way. The technology for recycling and producing Indium has no CO2 emissions, which is completely unique. At the same time, we recycle more efficiently and with a higher recycling rate than competitors can do today. Right now we are recycling on a small scale in a test environment and the next step is to scale up production.

Norgald

Elvira by norgald is a cyber security tool. Elvira is a research-based software security tool. Our software application maps the system architecture of all connected components in a power grid to identify critical components and vulnerabilities in the system.

Elvira presents a comprehensive analysis of current cyber risks and consequences to enable the creation of a security strategy to build resilience against cyber attacks.

Vesiro

Data creation is growing rapidly, and with it the cost and energy required to store, process, and search information. As more businesses rely on data-intensive applications, infrastructure footprints expand, cloud bills rise, and data centers consume increasing amounts of electricity, creating both financial pressure and sustainability challenges.

Vesiro delivers a high-performance plugin for Elasticsearch designed to cut infrastructure cost and energy use for large-scale search workloads. Powered by Vesiro’s search technology, the plugin significantly improves search performance, enabling companies to achieve the same (or better) search experience with fewer servers. This results in lower cloud spend, improved scalability, and reduced data-center energy consumption.

Lanterna

Lanterna’s patent pending FBAs introduce no substantial steric bulk to RNA-sequences and have excellent emissive properties. They enable nucleic acid sequences to form secondary structures with maintained canonical base-pairing and thermodynamic stability. Compared to other labeling options, there is also less impact on lipophilicity. The end result is a labeled nucleic acid that retains more of its native behavior.

SINOM

The climate crisis puts more and more pressure on building owners to renovate their buildings to reduce energy demand and carbon emissions. At the same time, the European building stock is relatively old and in need of extensive renovation measures. In Sweden alone more than half of the 2.4 million apartment units were built before 1980, out of which more than 300 000 apartments are in urgent need of renovation. This growing backlog of renovation needs together with limited resources and manual and short-term planning processes makes it difficult for building owners to address these issues.

SINOM is a digital and smart alternative to the manual and traditional ways of maintenance and renovation planning. SINOM´s web-based planning tool builds on a unique algorithm to enable fast, optimized and data-driven maintenance and renovation planning for buildings and building portfolios. Using the SINOM webtool, building owners can map their renovation needs and quickly and easily generate maintenance and renovation plans that are optimized and prioritized based on a life-cycle perspective which saves costs, time and reduces the energy and climate impact of their buildings!

Beat Vascular Health

Overadmission of patients with suspected Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) is a big problem in healthcare and can be as much as 80% of the admitted patients, vastly increasing healthcare expenditure and workload.

Beat Vascular Health is developing a decision support tool that has the potential to be a game-changer for diagnosing suspected ACS patients. The uniqueness of the tool lies in the way it processes input data from different sensor types. This, combined with machine learning, results in a tool that can produce a more precise answer on whether or not a patient has ACS. With our system, we aim to greatly reduce the overadmission of suspected ACS patients, resulting in less healthcare expenditure and workload, as well as reducing the number of patients having to go through unnecessary diagnostic testing.

Smena

The world is looking to replace the 84% fossil energy currently used on earth with sustainable options to make a minimal impact on the planet’s ecology. Hydrogen is the most promising candidate as an energy carrier and raw material to arrive to net zero carbon and beyond as soon as viable.

Smena has developed a unique and patented material that can be potentially make hydrogen cheaper to produce and safer to work with. Our material can also potentially be used to better monitor poisonous gasses such as Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) and ammonia, (NH3). Smena’s technology stems from world class research in physics at Chalmers University of Technology.

AquaFood

Blue Foods covering very diverse foods harvested from aquatic resources can have a meaningful contribution in our transition to a healthy and sustainable future food system. However, up to 70% of processed blue foods escapes the food value chain as side streams which goes to animal feed or waste.

AquaFood provides technologies for upcycling of these valuable side streams back to human food chain.  The unique technology upcycles seafood side steams into multiple high value products such as gel-forming proteins, omega-3 rich oils, marine collagens, chitin, etc., for food, nutraceutical and pharmaceutical application.

The technology, which is run at cold, can deal with the complex and sensitive nature of aquatic side streams and valorize them to high quality and functional marine ingredients. AquaFood’s technologies provide a holistic approach for increasing resource efficiency and sustainability in blue food chain.

Navari

Navari is solving a navigation-issue that surgeons encounter during laparoscopic liver surgery when removing liver tumours. Today, the most beneficial way for the patient is to have a tumour removed minimally-invasive, i.e. through laparoscopic surgery. However, surgeons face a big challenge when operating through a limited point of view, trying to orient themselves via the laparoscopic camera. By using existing gadgets and screens in the surgery room, Navari develops a software that provides the surgeon with a live-streamed augmented reality image on top of the already existing image provided by the laparoscopic camera. This helps the surgeons to orient themselves during the surgery, enabling them to locate and remove the tumour in the safest way possible.
