We welcome Potato Plastic to our pre-accelerator Encubation!
2020-01-13
We’re happy to welcome Potato Plastic, the winners at Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship’s annual event ‘Venture Pitch’, as part of Chalmers Ventures’ pre-accelerator program Encubation.
Technically potato plastic is a form of biodegradable bioplastic made from potatoes and water. With this plastic, you can make cutlery, bags and other single-use items – as a substitute for conventional plastic materials. However, while items made of conventional plastic will last for up to 450 years, Potato plastic dissolves in two months if it ends up in nature. Since these products normally are used for less than 20 minutes, the team behind Potato Plastic thinks it is unreasonable for them to last that much longer than the purpose intended.
