Chalmers Ventures supports #HackTheCrisis

On March 26th, the government decided that DIGG (Government Agency for Digitalization) is the new project manager for Hack for Sweden. The initial focus should be on social challenges created by the ongoing pandemic. A virtual hackathon to find solutions for the new challenges will be held on April 3-6.
Minister of Digitalization, Anders Ygeman states:
– Sweden as a society is facing great challenges as a result of COVID-19. Therefore it is imperative that we mobilize all good forces there is to meet the challenges society face right now.
– I encourage each and everyone to sign up at www.hackthecrisis.se to contribute with digital solutions. Solutions can range from critical resources to support for isolated people.
Hack the Crisis is gathering all parts of our society who wants to be a part of the solutions we need for our future; the public sector, private sector, academia, non-profit organizations, and citizens are all welcome to contribute. The online hackathon will have three focus areas; to save lives, save communities and save businesses.
Hack for Sweden started in 2014 as a hackathon (fast-paced competition in innovation) aimed at promoting the use of open data. The initiative has grown significantly under the Public Employment Service’s project manager and today creates valuable links between over 100 different public and private players in Sweden’s innovation ecosystem.
According to the OECD, Hack for Sweden is today a good example of how citizens, businesses, civil society, and other stakeholders can be involved in data-driven co-creation of social benefits.
