Joakim Örneblad, student at Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship and co-founder of Modvion has been awarded 200 000 SEK from the Åforsk entrepreneurs scholarship. The scholarship recognises Swedens ten most innovative entrepreneurs each year.
Modvion develops modular wind power towers made of renewable composite. The modular concept makes high towers easier to transport and mount, something that otherwise often causes problem because of the european limit for the width of transported goods is 4,5 meters. This will in the end enable higher towers and by that increased production of electricity. Modvion is a part of Encubation at Chalmers Ventures.
